Tipsy Poets: Dreaming of Dragons Poetry Workshop

It's nearly time for our next Tipsy Poets poetry workshop at Tipsy Books, 12-1.30pm Sunday 1st March. And what with it being on St David's Day, and hosted in a fantasy bookshop, we'll be dreaming of dragons this time around. From Y Ddraig Goch battling the white dragon, to Tolkein's Smaug hoarding his wealth, and the more benevolent dragon of the Chinese zodiac bestowing good fortune and strength, we'll explore the mythology of dragons and see what poems they might ignite in our souls.

All levels of experience welcome, so whether you’re an established poet or just fancy trying something new in a friendly and supportive environment, we’d love to see you there. There will be writing prompts and exercises, a chance to explore the synergy of music and poetry, space to share your work if you wish, performance tips, and maybe you'll even meet one of the resident bookshop ghosts...

We believe arts should be accessible for all, so discounted community tickets are available if you're feeling the pinch and we also have a pay it forward option if you'd like to (and are able to) subsidise these spaces.

The workshop will be followed after a short break by the monthly Tipsy Books open mic from 2-4pm, offering the perfect opportunity to share your work should you choose.
